| I
already had a PA Performance 130 amp alternator installed (install
instructions:
http://fordmuscle.com/archives/2001/03/paperformance/index.shtml
- unfortunately you need to be a member to see the entire document) so
if you don't, refer to Buffhomer's webiste for instructions on how to
install it with the stock alternator. In a stock setup, the
alternator power wire connects to the solenoid on the driver's side of
the engine compartment. The wire that connects to the solenoid
needs to be disconnected, and run to the battery in the trunk. I
used plastic wiring and electrical tape on the 1/0 wire and ran it under
the car.
From there, I ran the wiring up through the hole that already exists on the floor area of the passenger compartment, and back to the trunk through the interior to the trunk. I did the same thing for the wiring from the solenoid to the trunk on the driver's side. Put all of the wires except the starter solenoid wire to the rear post, and the start solenoid (not power wire) 'only' to the front post.
